The first visit is the foundation of successful treatment. We do not focus on just one problem tooth, but on the overall condition of the teeth, their function, aesthetics and long-term prognosis. Thanks to this, we are able to propose a solution that makes sense not only today, but also in several years’ time.
1. Registration and health questionnaire
Before the examination begins, we will ask you to present your health insurance card. You will then fill in an electronic health questionnaire, in which you inform us about your health condition, the medicines you take, any allergies and other important facts that may affect the course of treatment.
2. X-ray diagnostics
For every new patient we take a panoramic X-ray image (OPG), which gives us an overview of the whole set of teeth, the jaw bones, the wisdom teeth and any inflammation or other hidden problems.
Detailed X-ray images of individual areas are also an integral part, on which we can assess:
- interdental decay in both the early and advanced stages
- leaks in existing fillings
- inflammation around the root tips
- bone loss in disease of the gums and periodontium
- cracks in the teeth
- the quality of previous endodontic treatment
- and other hidden pathological findings
3. Consultation and initial examination
After the X-ray images have been taken, you move into the treatment room, where we first talk together about the reason for your visit. We are interested in:
- what is troubling you
- what your ideas and expectations are
- what experience you have with previous treatment
- whether you are dealing with functional or aesthetic issues
A detailed examination of the teeth, gums and bite follows.
We carry out the examination under a surgical microscope, which allows us to reveal details often invisible to the naked eye.
4. Digital 3D scan of the teeth
At the end of the initial examination we take a digital 3D impression using an intraoral scanner. Thanks to the digital scan we obtain a precise three-dimensional model of your teeth, which allows us to:
- document the initial condition
- track changes over time
- plan future treatment
- analyse the position of the teeth and the bite
- propose aesthetic adjustments
The visit also includes looking together at the images and scans taken on the screen. We will explain to you all the problems found, their causes and the options for resolving them.
5. Treatment plan
If you wish to have a detailed treatment proposal drawn up, we can prepare an individual treatment plan for you. This is a document of several pages containing:
- a summary of all the findings
- the recommended treatment procedure
- the order of the individual procedures
- the time demands of the treatment
- the cost of the individual treatments
- any recommendations for other specialties
The treatment plan may also include recommendations for orthodontic treatment, periodontology, implantology, surgery or other specialised fields of dentistry. Our aim is for you to have enough information to make your decision and to be able to plan your treatment according to both your time and your financial means.
6. Booking your first treatment
After the initial examination has been completed and any treatment plan drawn up, you can book your first treatment. Every patient is unique, and so every course of treatment requires an individual approach. We believe that quality diagnostics and thorough planning are the best basis for healthy and functional teeth in the long term.
Do you want to know the real condition of your teeth and get a clear plan for dealing with it? Book an initial examination and together we will find the best path to a healthy smile.
